About
In 2021, I started The Sanford Vegan with the aim of bringing awareness to vegan offerings available at all our amazing local restaurants, and connecting local vegans with vegan-friendly businesses and vice versa.
In our first years, we've accomplished some amazing things — thousands of friends following along online, menu collaborations, countless giveaways. We've even been featured in and contributed to amazing publications such as VegNews, VegOut Magazine, Do Orlando North, My Sanford Magazine, the Sanford Herald, and many more!
I am most proud of the community we've fostered in the Orlando area. I absolutely love it when followers DM me asking for restaurant recommendations or converse with others in the comments of my videos. Or when a business owner tells me they received more foot traffic after a post — it's the best!
It should come as no surprise that I have a sweet spot for Sanford. I live in Sanford's Georgetown neighborhood with my husband John, whom I met just a stone's throw away at Crooms Academy in Goldsboro. We enjoy daily walks around our city and spend many, many hours in our garden admiring the birds, bees, butterflies, and ever-unfolding foliage. Sanford is our muse!
Beyond my work with The Sanford Vegan, I am a media and communications consultant for organizations across the country. I also hold a Master's in Theological Studies from Pacific School of Religion, where my thesis explored the intersectional history of American Vegetarianism. Coming soon: my inclusion in the first-ever textbook on Food & Religion by Bloomsbury Press — my chapter covers Religion & Vegetarianism.
"For me, veganism is not just a way of eating or dressing, but a way of living — of embodying my values. Continuing on this journey with all of you makes it all the sweeter!"
"Veganism is not just a way of eating or dressing, but a way of living — of embodying my values."
