Karelyn's Vegan has suddenly closed their Orlando location on Old Cheney Road — and based on what we're seeing online, their Daytona Beach location may also be affected.

What Happened

Karelyn's Vegan posted a statement announcing the closure of their Orlando location, citing serious safety concerns. Here's a snippet directly from their statement:

"We've made the decision to leave our Old Cheney location effective immediately due to serious safety concerns. Someone entered our space, and items were taken. Before that happened, our cameras were unplugged. We even spent hours with law enforcement trying to understand what happened — and we're still left without answers."

What About Daytona?

From what we can see online, the Daytona Beach (Beachside) location may also be temporarily closed — online ordering is currently unavailable, and the location is listed as "Temporarily Closed" in search results. I'll update this post as soon as I have more information.

Why This Matters

Karelyn's Vegan is not just any restaurant — this is a fairly famous, award-winning vegan spot that has been a staple of the Florida vegan scene. They won the Best Vegan Burger in America award in 2024, and their Philly Cheesesteaks and Fried Chicken have received ongoing rave reviews from vegans across the country.

Losing a restaurant like this is a big deal for the community, and the circumstances surrounding the closure are understandably upsetting for everyone who has loved and supported them.
