(Vegan) Things We're Eating in Orlando Right Now

What are you eating in Orlando? ๐ŸŒฑ

I love this question, and I love asking it โ€” because the Orlando vegan food scene is genuinely so good right now that there's always something new to try. This post is a snapshot of some of the vegan food I've been loving across the Orlando area recently. It's a non-exhaustive list (obviously ๐Ÿคฃ), but it's a real one โ€” these are places I've actually been and things I've actually eaten.

Let's get into it!

๐ŸŒฟ Selam Cuisine โ€” Ethiopian Food in Orlando

There is something so special about Ethiopian food, and Selam Cuisine is doing it beautifully. The injera โ€” that spongy, fermented flatbread โ€” arrives piled with colorful stews and lentils, and the whole thing is meant to be shared and eaten with your hands. It's communal, it's flavorful, and so much of it is naturally vegan.

If you haven't tried Ethiopian food yet, Selam is a wonderful place to start. And if you're already a fan, you already know.

๐ŸŒฟ IKEA โ€” Yes, Really

Order the: Plant-Based Hot Dog

Okay, this one might surprise you, but I'm putting it on the list because it genuinely deserves to be here. IKEA's plant-based hot dog is good. Like, actually good. Topped with your choice of condiments, it's a legitimately satisfying meal for basically nothing.

Next time you're at IKEA Millenia and you need a quick bite, do not sleep on the plant-based hot dog. You're welcome.

๐ŸŒฟ Hot Asian Buns โ€” Orlando

Asian bao buns done right โ€” fluffy, pillowy, and filled with savory goodness. Hot Asian Buns is the kind of spot that makes you want to order everything on the menu and then go back the next day to try the rest. The vegan options here are genuinely excellent.

๐ŸŒฟ The Neighbors โ€” East End Market, Orlando

Order the: Whatever their seasonal pizza is

The Neighbors is one of my favorite spots in Orlando, full stop. Tucked inside East End Market, this restaurant is helmed by a vegan chef, and it shows โ€” the vegan menu is thoughtful, creative, and genuinely delicious. The pizza menu rotates seasonally, so whatever they're featuring when you visit is going to be the move.

At the time of writing, the seasonal pizza is the "Snowed In" โ€” pesto, garlic cream, caramelized onion, pine nuts, pomegranate, and local arugula โ€” but this changes regularly. Just ask what the current seasonal vegan pizza is and trust the process.

๐ŸŒฟ Talay โ€” Orlando

Order the: Thai Fried Rice

Talay is a Thai restaurant in Orlando with some great vegan options, and the Thai fried rice is the one to get. Fragrant, savory, and satisfying โ€” this is the kind of meal you think about on the drive home. Great for a weeknight dinner when you want something comforting and flavorful.

๐ŸŒฟ Mario's Pizza โ€” Curry Ford Road, Orlando

Order the: Crown Jewel with Garlic Knot Crust

If you've been following me for any amount of time, you know how I feel about Mario's Pizza. The Crown Jewel pizza with garlic knots around the edges is one of the best things you can eat in Orlando, vegan or otherwise. The comprehensive vegan menu means you have plenty of options, but the Crown Jewel is the crown jewel for a reason.

๐ŸŒฟ Skipper's Canteen โ€” Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World

Disney park eats are better than you think

Skipper's Canteen at Magic Kingdom is one of the best table service restaurants in the parks for vegan options. The menu is creative and themed (very Jungle Cruise), and the vegan dishes are genuinely good โ€” not just "we removed the cheese" good, but actually thoughtfully prepared.

If you're heading to Magic Kingdom and want a sit-down meal, Skipper's Canteen is absolutely worth a reservation.

๐ŸŒฟ Valhalla Bakery โ€” Orlando

I cannot talk about vegan food in Orlando without talking about Valhalla Bakery. Brownies, bars, cupcakes, cookies โ€” everything is vegan, everything is delicious, and the box of assorted treats is one of the best things you can bring to any gathering. Valhalla is proof that vegan baked goods don't have to be a compromise.

๐ŸŒฟ Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe โ€” Sanford

Order the: Vegan Sausage Plate

Okay, this one is a little unexpected โ€” a German restaurant in Sanford with excellent vegan options. But Hollerbach's has been a Sanford institution for years, and they've really stepped up their vegan game. The vegan sausage with fries and sauerkraut is a genuinely satisfying meal, and the atmosphere is unmatched.

If you've never been to Hollerbach's, it's worth a visit just for the experience โ€” and the vegan sausage plate makes it even better.

๐ŸŒฟ Kaya โ€” Orlando

Caribbean-inspired plant-based dining

Kaya is a Caribbean-inspired plant-based restaurant in Orlando, and it is absolutely stunning โ€” both the food and the space. The dishes are creative, beautifully presented, and full of bold flavors. This is a great spot for a special occasion or anytime you want a meal that feels like an event.

๐ŸŒฟ Bombay Street Kitchen โ€” Orlando

Order the: Samosas

Indian street food, done right. Bombay Street Kitchen serves up samosas, chaat, and other Indian street food classics, and the vegan options are plentiful. The samosas are crispy, flavorful, and come with the most satisfying chutneys. This is the kind of food that makes you want to order way more than you can eat.
