Lojax Good Eats in Henry’s Depot (Vegan Guide)

Lojax Good Eats is Sanford’s newest pizza parlor serving wood-fired slices at the front of Henry’s Depot. Lojax was conceived by Chef Joe Johnson, who was inspired by his children (his daughter “lo” and son “jax”) to make a product that “makes people happy,” as his son tells his classmates. Fun fact: his daughter also made the initial designs of his logo!

Lojax is a very vegan-friendly establishment with a great variety of complex flavor profiles. This is not your average pizza. Here is my comprehensive review of vegan-by-default items available on Lojax Good Eats' menu:

Pizzas

The Vegan Velocity

A red base with house-made cashew mozzarella, broccolini, tofu ricotta, plant-based sausage, and chili oil finish.

[TSV Pick] Killer Tofu

Garlic oil base, vegan mozzarella, tofu marinated in curry, mushroom blend, jalapeno, buffalo sauce

NOTE: This is my favorite item on the menu. It’s totally killer! (pun intended) Amazing combination of flavors from spicy to smokey to sweet and savory. The little details on this pizza make a world of a difference–and it's so original too!

Oh Shiitake

Garlic oil base, 5 mushroom blend (oyster mushroom, creme, bella, shiitake, white) spinach, choice of regular or vegan mozzarella

NOTE: This is also an excellent pizza. Definitely consider this is you’re more in the mod for an oil-based pizza rather than red sauce.

Starters

I’m a Funghi

5 mushroom blend (oyster mushroom, creme, bella, shiitake, white), served with fire bread and balsamic and chili oil

NOTE: We got to try this and it was very delicious and filling. Love the combo of tart, deep balsamic with the umami of the mushrooms!

Greens

The House

Greens mix, cherry-tomatoes, mushrooms, black olive, finished with a house-made citrus basil dressing.

CLOSING NOTE:

The staff at Lojax is very accommodating and does as much as they can to reduce cross-contamination between vegan and non-vegan dishes. If you see a menu item you'd like to veganize, speak with their staff and they will likely be able to pull it off!
